Sparky came to Vida as a fledgling just a couple weeks ago. After lots of flight practice in the garden she decided it was time to explore the outside world. She went to the roof and then to the trees. Sprocket’s crew has been calling loudly to her today. You go Sparky! Happy hunting.

Nighthawk
We received a message from a local RV resort about a bird; they were not sure it needed help but were concerned. So I went to check it out.
This beauty was just fine. She claimed territory under and around a shed and was defending it. Wings, feathers, mouth all looked good, she can fly and has a major attitude…perfect!
nighthawks eat all sorts of flying bugs. They are also known as mosquito hawks, and are nocturnal. That RV place is lucky to have her for bug control ❤️
Sprocket-American Kestrel Falcon
Last year a baby kestrel falcon was brought in. This was one of my 1st experiences with any type of falcon, hawk or owl and it was amazing!
Sprocket came in as a fuzzy baby. She needed lots of care and attention, she started thriving. As she grew and her baby cries changed to kestrel sounds, nearby kestrels started calling to her. One day a group of kestrels were in a nearby tree and flying around showing off for her. She wanted to go to them so badly. Tony took her outside of her enclosure because it was time. That day she flew with them. Her and her new family are still in the area, we hear them calling out all the time.
This is what we strive for at Vida Wildlife. Rehabilitation and release back to the wild where they belong.
Sparky-American Kestrel Falcon
Meet Sparky a Fledgling American Kestrel that came to Vida Wildlife a couple of weeks ago (my bad forgot to add his story).
sparky was sent down to us from Pam, a member of Vida Wildlife in Havasu.
Ducklings update.
The little ducklings that came in the other night are doing great. 1 of them has a poof on his head; he/she is a Crested duck!
These 3 visit the 2 eggs still waiting to hatch in the incubator, hoping their chirps and cheeps will encourage their siblings to hatch!
