Another Life Saved at West Wetlands Park

Feb 3, 2026

We recently received a call about a dove that was tangled in fishing line and hanging upside down from a tree at West Wetlands Park. Sadly, discarded fishing line can be extremely dangerous for wildlife, and this little guy was completely helpless.

With the help of some kind and caring people at the park, we were able to safely get him down and bring him into care. After a few days of rehabilitation, rest, and monitoring, he’s now healthy, strong, and ready to return to the wild where he belongs.

This rescue had a happy ending but many others don’t.

👉 Please pick up your trash, especially fishing line.
Even small pieces can cause serious injuries or death to birds and other animals.

Thank you to everyone who stopped to help and to those who care enough to make a difference for our local wildlife.
